The Alt Emporda region in northern Catalonia, nestled between the Pyrenees Mountains and the waters of the Costa Brava is the beautiful setting for this unique venue. The 14th Century Castillo de Peralada is home to the Michelin star Castell Restaurant, the only Casino in the world to be housed in a medieval castle and is surrounded by 7.7 hectares of beautful gardens.

Castillo Peralada winery is one of the most prestigious and charismatic in the country and La Vinyeta, one of Emporda's youngest and most dynamic wineries both feature in our hosted trips. However, with 2000 hectares of vineyards, 330 growers and 50 wineries producing around 5.5 million bottles of wine per year, we can help map your personal wine route of the region.

During the summer months of July and August, the Castle and gardens are host to the 'Castell de Peralada Festival', regarded as one of the most prominent arts events of the summer. Major operatic productions, music & dance shows and smaller intimate arrangements are performed at 4 stunning venues within the castle grounds.

Emporda is one of the oldest wine making regions in the world and no wonder with the Mediterranean landscape, perfect climate and and spectacular vines producing 10 white grape and 10 red grape varieties. 

Peralada itself has 5 estates in the Emporda, a spectacular ageing cellar with 5000 barrels of prestigious wines and a historical cave in which Carmelite monks made wine for over five centuries.
